Payments and billing

Billing vendors hold the state your application most needs to read. "Show enterprise customers this feature" is a scope when subscription state is a column, and an integration when it lives in somebody else's dashboard.

Nothing here replaces the payment processor, and nothing should. What these engines replace is the billing layer stacked on top of it.
